The State of Emergency and the subsequent social isolation produced by COVID-19 in the country affected many families’ economies. Due to the government’s restrictions, they were no longer able to go out to work to support their families’ basic daily needs.
The most affected, as always, were the people who do not have a fixed job, abandoned mothers, elderly and disabled people, who live in the urban-marginal neighborhoods of our city.
Faced with this situation, according to our institutional principles, and because we care for our neighbors, we managed to assist 80 people in vulnerable situations. We have shared “a bag of love” full of food and we encouraged them to trust in the love of God.
Perhaps, these bags may seem somewhat insignificant, but in our experience delivering them we could see in the faces of the beneficiaries, the joy and gratitude for this unexpected gesture.
